FINANCIAL AID FOR SUMMER 2013:  Please review the Summer 2013 Financial Aid Guide for the process to apply for financial aid for the 2013 summer term.  Students interested in applying for a Federal Direct Loan for the 2013 summer term must complete and submit a Summer Direct Loan Request Form.  The Summer Direct Loan Request Form is available from the Financial Aid Office at any of the college campuses.  The deadline for submitting the Summer Direct Loan Request Form is June 17, 2013 for students who are registered in any classes in the 10 week Summer term and/or Summer Term A.  The deadline for submitting the form for students who are registered in all Summer Term B classes is July 29, 2013.

Daytona State College's Federal School Code is 001475.

Your decision to attend college is an important one.  It is an investment in your future, and involves a considerable commitment of time and money.  Daytona State College provides a wide variety of quality educational programs at reasonable costs.

Financial aid is available to help eligible students meet educational expenses.  This aid is provided through the federal government, state government, or through private sources and may consist of grants, scholarships, loans, or work.

Applying for financial aid is not as complicated as you might think.  The important thing to remember is to take it one step at a time and plan in advance.  The process consists of completing the appropriate applications and submitting requested documentation to the Financial Aid office.  To apply for financial aid, you first need to complete the Free Applicationfor Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov.  Once you have completed the FAFSA, you can check the status of outstanding and received paperwork through Financial Aid Document Tracking on FalconNet.

Financial aid specialists and counselors are available to assist students Monday through Friday (see office hours below).

The college is closed on the following days and the Financial Aid Office will not be available:

May 27, 2013 – Memorial Day
July 4, 2013 – Independence Day

In addition, the college will close at 5 p.m. prior to all federal holidays that are observed by the college, such as the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the day before Independence Day (if a weekday).
